As the name of the tournament suggests, the matches took place in Stockholm, with all the teams competing for a prize pool of a total of $2 000 000. All the matches were live-streamed online, as well as available to watch in the in-game client.

PGL Stockholm Major 2021 was one of the biggest CS:GO tournaments to date, with one of the biggest audiences of CSGO fans ever, as well as one of the largest transmissions in the history of the game. Much like other CSGO tournaments, players spectating the match had a chance to obtain rare souvenir weapons randomly during a match. These are the weapon skins from a collection of the map that is played in the tournament. PGL Stockholm introduced a new feature though, with the souvenir weapon skins coming with an addition of rare souvenir stickers on every gun. These are all rare gold stickers, decorated with a team logo or a map symbol.
