What is Team Fortress 2?
Team Fortress 2, more commonly known as TF2 among the gaming community is a multiplayer first-person shooter game that was developed and published by Valve way back in October 2007. It is a sequel to the popular Team Fortress mod for Quake which later became its own title in 1999. The core gameplay revolves around players being split into two teams, red and blue, choosing their own individual class, and then duking it out on the battlefield. Each of the classes features its own set of skills, and strengths as well as weaknesses which results in a very fast-paced and exciting gaming experience. Team Fortress 2 is available on multiple platforms among which are included Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Linux, as well as the mobile platform Mac OS X. Since June 2011, TF2 has adopted a free-to-play model and is supported through microtransactions. Thanks to the large support of the fanbase, TF 2 received its official competitive ranked matchmaking as well as casual gameplay updates sometime in July 2016 and still receives periodic content updates.
