If a CS2 (CS:GO) skin is expensive, it means that it is extremely popular among players, which can be driven by many factors. The main characteristics of a Counter Strike cosmetic item are its rarity, float value and belonging to a collection. Moreover, players may like a particular CS2 (CSGO) skin because of its unique appearance or its association with a specific event, such as the recent Majors. All of this affects the demand for a particular item and, consequently, its price. Then there are also instanceds when a particular weapon finish has been withdrawn from the market due to unusual circumstances, as in the case of the M4A4 Howl. If that's the case, only the lucky few who obtained them before the incident would be able to make great money by selling them on SkinCashier or trading them with others.

Many players sell skins they no longer use on sites like SkinCashier instead of the Steam Community Market. Money from Steam Market sales stays in your Steam Wallet and can't be withdrawn, and you have to wait for another player to buy your item. On P2P marketplaces you also wait for a buyer and pay a seller fee. SkinCashier buys your items directly, at the price you see before you trade, and pays out real money via PayPal, crypto and other methods. It's a simple way to clear out your inventory, and it also works for items from Dota 2, Team Fortress 2 and Rust.

CS2 (CS:GO) Skins, also known as finishes, are custom textures for various weapons that can be equipped in the game. They serve a purely cosmetic function and allow players to express their personality in Counter Strike as well as set themselves apart from others. Also, some skins are equipped with StatTrak, which means that they can display the number of kills of the weapon's owner. With this cool feature you can not only keep an eye on your stats, but also strike fear into your opponents.

Skin prices are driven by the law of supply and demand, which is typical of any market. This means that if an item is extremely popular in the gaming community, but there are not many copies in circulation, its value is bound to rise sharply. On the other hand, if a particular weapon finish is extremely common and many players own it, its price is likely to fall. Anyone who wants to make big money selling CS2 (CS:GO) skins should be very attentive to everything that happens in the Counter Strike 2 (CSGO) economy. Market fluctuations dictate what is a good investment.

In 2023, Counter Strike: Global Offensive was ported to Source 2, a new game engine developed by Valve. However, this was not a simple update or patch, and Valve decided to release CS:GO in a new and revised form as a brand new game, Counter Strike 2. Many players were worried about what would happen to their CS:GO skins after the switch to CS2. After all, their CS:GO skins often had tremendous value. However, no players had to worry about their Counter Strike items, all CS:GO skins were turned into CS2 skins with the release of the new version of the game. In addition, many of the skins received a new graphic design, which also improved their appearance, as well as had an impact on the price.
