The Call to Arms update was the first major patch released for Counter Strike 2, and it has brought some changes to the game that will forever change the popular online shooter. Although the update brought back the popular CS GO game mode, the arms race, it has also introduced some new features. These, besides the awesome Killowatt collection skins, are some changes to the Counter Strike taser, the Zeus x27.
While in the past Zeus x27 was treated as more of an oddity, the latest update has introduced some serious changes to how the weapon works. Here is everything you need to know about the updated Zeus x27!
What Is The Zeus x27?
Zeus x27 is a taser available in the Counter Strike franchise, that has always been a high-risk-high-reward weapon. It needs to be fire up-close and is very loud, giving away your position almost instantly, however, it’s also one of the most powerful weapons in the game, always killing your target with a single shot, regardless of their armor level. While it can be difficult to hit and requires a lot of luck to land, a hist from Zeus that connects is always a guaranteed hit.
In the past, every Zeus you’d purchase would only be single-use, meaning that if you fail to score a hit, it would be $300 down the drain. However, the latest CS 2 update added by Valve has changed how this weapon works, and now your Zeus includes a power meter, which recharges after 30 seconds, and can be used again. This means that in case you decide to use your Zeus, you won’t have to buy a new one, provided you don’t die.
Are There Any Zeus Skins In The Game?
In case you haven’t heard yet, one of the biggest and most historical changes introduced in the call to arms update was the first Zeus skin in the game’s history. The Zeus x27 Olympus features a beautiful graphic design of the titular greek god of thunder. While there already were some Greek mythology-inspired skins in the past, most notably in the God and Monsters collection, Zeux x27 Olympus takes it to a whole new level. With the improved Zeus x27 model and new graphics from the CS 2 upgrade, it’s certainly one of the best CS2 skins available in the game at the moment. Zeus x27 Olympus was introduced in the Kilowatt case, first case in CS2, alongside the new kukri knife, as well as many other awesome skins!
How To Use Zeus x27 Effectively?
Zeus x27 is difficult to handle, and an inexperienced player might find it difficult to use. With the new update, many players will probably be trying out the Zeus x27 for the first time in their CS2 career. If you’re one of these players, here’s a quick guide on how to use the taser effectively:
Camp Around The Corners
The best way to use the Zeus x27 is to have the enemy run into you. Zeus is perfect for camping around the corners of any entryway. If an enemy runs past you, you have a chance to take them out before they get to react at all. This way you can even surprise groups of enemies, and immediately take out one of them, before switching to your main weapon and dealing with the rest.
Don’t Move While Shooting
One thing about Zeus x27 is that it has very low moving accuracy. This means that you won’t be able to simply rush into your enemies. With roughly three meters of effective range, you have to be almost at melee distance to land a shot from your Zeus. However, should you try to simply run into your enemies, it will most likely not work out for you. With Zeus, you only have one shot, if you miss, the enemy gets a long window to just take you down before you even switch to another weapon. Because of this, it’s important to make every shot count.
Zeus Isn’t Good For Every Map
In case it’s not clear yet – Zeus x27 is only useful in tight corridors and on maps that feature a lot of closed spaces. In any other situation, Zeus x27 is not as useful. This means that on maps that feature large open spaces, like Dust 2 or Ancient, Zeus x27 will be useless most o the time, and you most definitely have a better way to spend $300.
Summing Up
If you’re excited to try out the new and improved Zues x27, make sure to practice first. The changes introduced in the latest update have not only improved the weapon, but also drastically changed how it can be used in-game.
